Bio

In the beginning…

Growing up as any other kid on Disney, Looney Tunes and Tex Avery I always wanted to be an animator and draw cartoons like the ones I saw on TV. Unfortunately opportunities like that don’t come around too often (especially on the Isle of Man) but luckily when I finished High School I got the chance. I did my training and worked in that environment for 4 enjoyable years. During that time my interest in art had broadened considerably and I went to Art College to develop other skills. Upon finishing my course I was accepted at University but decided not to go as I wanted to do my own thing. Since then I have been working from my home in the Isle of Man gradually building my business and reputation. This is where I’m at now. You are now up to date.

Being a Manx artist I’m totally influenced by the heritage around me, in fact most things around me! The Island does feature in much of my work in all sorts of ways, from songs and interlacing, through language to locations and of course the world famous T.T. Races. I also love to produce artwork with a music base -a lot of my stuff is inspired by music itself, often including lyrics, poetry, song titles or actually being for bands themselves.

I work in pen and ink mostly, but also (as I have a pretty short attention span and get tired of doing the same thing) I like to do vibrant colour pieces, experimenting with inks and paints as well as other materials, getting different textures and finding new ways to layer colours. I also work on canvas as well as producing conventional framed originals and prints.

I accept commissions for all types of work including album covers, posters, illustrations, tattoo designs, cartoons, advertisements, logo design etc etc. So if you have an idea or just want some art for your wall don’t hesitate to get in touch and we can work something out.
